College Course – Our Study Tour unique because it is designed for bachelor’s degree students AND as an audit course for the broader church community

Discipleship Training – The focus of this Study Tour is discipleship training through an immersive study of the life and ministry of Jesus as THE Disciplemaker while on location in Jesus’s backyard- Israel!

Better Value – Whereas most sightseeing tours of Israel only begin once you land in Israel, our Study Tour begins months before we land in the Middle East. You will have access to additional teaching content through our digital classroom that will prepare you to get the most out of the “on the ground” portion of this class in Israel.

Tour Handbook – In addition to the actual Study Tour, all participants will receive a 130+ page handbook that you will use for guided notetaking during our site-specific instruction; it will give background information for each site we will visit; include many full-color maps, images, and diagrams to help explain historical, cultural, geographical, and archeological information of various sites and structures we will visit.

College Class – What makes our tour of Israel not only unique, but a great value is that it is not just a sightseeing tour, but it is a college course. As such, all participants will be enrolled in a class at Montana Bible College. For full-time students, this class serves as a capstone class (SF 406) in the Discipleship Lab series. For non-MBC students, or “Community Participants,” you will enroll in this class as an audit student and will have access to all the same teaching content as our full-time students!

Populi (MBC’s Learning Management System) – Because this is an actual college course, you will be enrolled as a student at Montana Bible College. This means you will be invited to setup a student account through Populi, MBC’s learning management system. Communication, payments, as well as the digital classroom for the Study Tour will all be handled through Populi, which you will have access to once you register for the Study Tour and set up your Populi account (Instructions for setting up your account will be sent to you once you have
completed registration and paid the $300 deposit).

Digital Classroom – Once you have registered for the trip, paid the deposit, and set up your Populi account you will have access to the Israel Study Tour digital classroom. Through the Digital classroom you will be able to view several lessons designed to prepare you to get the most out of the “on-the-ground” portion of this Study Tour. These lessons will include background information, introduce you to the discipleship principles we will be unpacking in Israel, guide you through a reading plan of the course Textbook (The NIV Harmony of the Gospels), and provide discussion forums that create opportunity for you to interact with the other participants prior to meeting them in person in Israel!

Harmony Reading – Before we travel to Israel, we ask that all participants (Full-time students & audit students/community members) purchase the course
textbook: The NIV Harmony of the Gospels (by Robert Thomas & Stanley Gundry; ISBN: 978-0060635237) and read it according to the reading schedule provided in the Lessons on Populi. Reading will prepare you for our time in Israel and
enable you to get the most out of the trip. We will also be referencing and reading from our Harmony text in Israel so you will need to pack it with you.

Pre-Trip Instruction – There are 34 lessons on Populi that we ask all participants to view and engage with prior to departure. The 34 lessons correspond to 34 weeks from when the class opens in September up to our departure time. These lessons are not difficult but engaging and designed to prepare you for our time in Israel. The lessons will introduce you to the trip, build a biblical and theological foundation for understanding discipleship and the unique life of Jesus, give you specific details about how to plan, pack, and prepare to get the most out of our time in Israel. If you are not a strong student, don’t worry, most of our lessons won’t be longer than 20 minutes and we have broken topics down into manageable chunks. For those of you that love to learn and want to dig deeper, we will provide suggested resources for further study. Lesson will include videos, short readings, interactive discussion boards, as well as easily digestible instruction.
